University of Summertime Construction. Summer is a perfect time for the University to function on enhancements to the campus community without disrupting the educational environment. Many of the construction projects are on track to be completed by the time classes start in late August.

Here are some of the new developments you can get to see this fall:

A fresh residential dining hallway!

A previous food court, Café 84 will be transformed into USC’s third formal dining hall. Another dining facility, Everybody’s Kitchen (EVK), will get a remodel as well as the addition of a new grill station and a Starbucks!

A breathtaking upgrade to the guts of campus!

Hahn Plaza (the certain area in front of Tommy Trojan) is getting a makeover! The plaza has been enhanced with a beautiful brick walkway and with the redesign of thePatsy and Forrest Shumway Water Fountain.

A new home for Trojan Athletes!

The much opening that is anticipated of John McKay Center is fast approaching! A year and a half into the making, the brand new athletic facility and office complex is opening its doorways to students and athletes come july 1st. Summer Olympics

The opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympics is coming up this Friday! Whether you like viewing events that are individual team events, there’s something for everyone.

The London Olympics also provide a chance to cheer on current and former Trojans! There may well be more than 30 athletes participating in sports such as water polo, volleyball, and track representing the Trojan family members. There are lots of present USC coaches who is lending their coaching expertise during the games that are olympic.

USC has a tradition that is long of Olympic athletes. From 1904 to 2008, there have been nearly 400 athletes whom either went to the university before, during, or after their Olympic competition. USC has delivered more athletes to the Olympics than just about any college and our athletes have acquired a total that is grand of medals.

The Olympics are a time for you to cheer on our country’s athletes and also unite together for a worldwide platform. The Expo Line is Finally Open!!!

After six years of expectation the expansion of Los Angeles’s light train train system (LA Metro) has finally opened. The Expo Line could be the way that is perfect USC pupils, staff, and faculty to obtain around the city without getting behind the wheel. The new line has three stops directly next door from our campus. One end is on the side that is northeast of while the other two are on the south side of campus.

By utilising the Expo Line, students can get pretty much anywhere in the city and take complete advantage of what Los Angeles provides. It is just a short five-minute trip on the Expo Line to the Los Angeles Metro Station and from there students can link to another light rail train lines that run throughout the city.

Some members of our workplace have already traded in their cardinal and gold parking permits for the monthly metro pass to overcome their commutes to work. Our workplace is slowly overpowering all of the seats in the 8:18am train! Our experience happens to be wonderful and we’re excited to tell students and families in regards to the convenience of getting around Los Angeles when we hit the road in the next weeks that are few our fall recruitment travel.

Welcome Right Back, Pupils!

Summer is visiting an in depth. Classes at USC resume week that is next. And the absolute most things that are exciting happening on campus this week—our students are going in! Our campus is busy with students and families getting everything all set for the scholastic year. Welcome Week has officially started.

In between the tasks that are necessary registering for the USCard , becoming familiar with the libraries on campus, and picking out a meal plan, pupils and parents have multiple events and activities to select from during Welcome Week. There was A welcome Reception designed for parents hosted by the USC Parents Council and also the Office for Parent Programs to begin parents that are connecting all the resources our campus has to provide them. Many of the scholastic departments on campus are keeping open houses for pupils to come meet faculty, staff, and other current students within their program. There is A perform Study Job Fair and an Involvement Fair, even as we find it’s important for USC students to lead a balanced life outside of the classroom in addition to inside the class. During the evenings, there are activities such as a ‘Welcome Back Dance,’ a DJ performance, and— the most events&mdash that is anticipated the Fall Carnival and Concert.

As you’re able to imagine, it’s a serious busy time on campus! It is exciting to see freshmen that are new in and just starting to realize what their college experience might entail.
